From the official twitter of the manga
It seems that we'll be getting 3 consecutive chapters next 3 weeks. Chapter 51 will be titled heavy mist, chapter 52 will be titled friend, and chapter 53 will be titled cowards, run. They said that it will be the longest night in Kosuke's life. The author also tweeted that after discussing with the editor, the reader will decrease by 5%. Not sure what they meant, but I think there'll be big surprises ahead.

I doubt the guy will come out unscathed. Even if he may be innocent in eyes of the law (if she consented), he isn’t in the eyes of public, particularly morality. I mean, if you see an old guy kissing a minor, even with consent, you—or anyone you know—wouldn’t look at them kindly, no? “But love is blind”, it’s easy to say that until it’s someone you know or love.
Age gap is one thing but engaging a minor is... only good for porn movies. Even in movies, it’s not looked kindly upon. Just look up: dirty grandpa (movie featuring Robert de Niro), Batman x batgirl, and tera x death stroke.

@thisisawesomeguys @monkry i'm not sure (of course), but it might also be that she saw the incongruity within the female officer's speech about what's normal and what's not. it's normal for anybody to help anybody, but it's not normal for this man to help this girl in this case.

@Jackwyvern Seems like this varies a lot from person to person though. And sometimes even, I bet some people don't realize they're actually enjoying an age-gap story, then you tell them, and oops! I wonder how Koto no Ha no Niwa is appreciated or not in general, as I saw it recently, and thought it was beautiful.

Age gap isn’t always bad. I think some gap is ok. I don’t necessarily mind an age gap. I love gal gohan. It’s one of the very few romance/romcom that I liked. I think it’s one of the (very few?) series done right. But if it’s big enough that they could be father/daughter or mother/son, then to me, it’s a bit much.
Just to be clear, I don’t hate this series or anything. Just that, I can’t say I sympathise with the kousuke at this point. To me, he should’ve stopped it long ago - he shouldn’t let it (their relationship) get too far, to begin with. Yeah, friendship is ok but even that has limits, no?
