Musume no Tomodachi - Vol. 7 Ch. 62 - Stealing the moon

So the implication is that they'll keep it a secret that they're together and I assume will go public sometime in the future?

@ss4chris It's not so much a chapter of whether i "can" upload the chapter, but "should".

Details:
Since I was as curious as anyone with this being the final chapter (I hope there will be an epilogue though as I also keep reading maybe there will be one, but I haven't found any concrete proof yet) I worked fast on this one and it's ready minus some proof-reading. It was almost ready yesterday. The problem is that up until now I've always respected the publisher's website's free-to-view (very reasonable) delay period. I.e. this chapter will be available publicly next Wednesday. That's when I'll upload mine. I've been pretty distraught seeing other people don't actually respect the official source. It's cool for everyone that you can read it now, but it's also the week during which the publisher has a chance to get its 100 yen (like 1$USD) per chapter view, hopefully some of which goes in the artist's pockets! I know many people will buy the chapter out of curiosity, even if they can't read it now, or not perfectly. I'm also hoping that by being more respectful, the scanlation community has less chances of having problems down the line, one way or another...
TL;DR: My release will be next week, as usual, for sure, like clockwork.

@princess_daphie ya i was mixed clicking on this ch knowing you didnt upload it

if theres no epilogue thats okay. it was a nice lil series.

Happy Holidays. I look forward to Wed. be safe.

@princess_daphie I think that the way you work is a reasonable way specially if a manga is web exclusive like a lot of Comic Days mangas that can only hope for a full Tankoubon release to earn more money, as a not native English speaker I will read your release and probably other projects from you. Nice work

@Darudius As far as I can understand it, judging from the facts:

[ul]there's the known analogy with "the moon is beautiful" "tsuki ga kirei" meaning love
and the fact that Koto steals the moon to give it to Kousuke
that she tells him he can keep it in his heart to make his life without her less painful
that they reiterate their feelings to each other
that Kousuke says he has his public life continue on like normal
but that his true self is carrying a (quoted) "secret" between him and Koto, in his heart[/ul]

I think they'll see each other sporadically, like, not too often, maybe at the café where she works, maybe not (because there seems to be an implication that maybe there's a court order disallowing him to see her for a while, I'm not 100% sure on that one, but I wonder why he says it's against the rules to see her), and keep on living their lives separately, while still loving each other, so... I think it's fair to assume they'll rekindle when it's legal and safe for them to do so.

There's no guarantee ever, but yeah, I think it's a beautiful ending. It's a bit vague, yet not hopeless, not 100% hopeful either. I think it's a fitting ending for the manga.

That was it??? Didnt even resolve things with his daughter, and koto being so autistic as usual. Fuck this

@ss4chris That's... a pretty rosy interpretation. The tone and dialogue convince me otherwise. The way they go separate way in the second to last page (with Kouseke thinking about how he would go on as a father and a salaryman) and he returns home with a somewhat listless "I'm home" don't strike me as some sort of happy ever after ending. If anything, it feels like a stark, albeit realistic ending, where characters go back to their respective lives, but with some nice memories close to their hearts so that they can carry on. That kind of ending.

This is the ending? Let´s not even mention the romance, there is no resolution for Miya and Psychomom´s conflicts.

Btw, I don´t know why so many people keep mentioning he´s in danger of being arrested for being with Koto or something.

He literally got taken in by the police while Psychomom accused him of every crime she thought possible and he got away with a warning that society won´t approve of him but that´s it. The police officer that interrogated Koto obviously attested to his innocence so he was let go. I believe any legal ammunition against him had already been exhausted by then.

At the very least this is not a rewarding ending, if there is no epilogue I´ll have to make a mental note to myself to stay away from this author´s works in the future.

@ss4chris lol how can a fan interpretation even be 'confirmed', unless by the author? But it's alright, people always take things differently.

@princess_daphie
the Indonesian translation is a bit deep on page 21, don't know what the original Japanese is
and the fact that Kisaragi giving "herself"
(Kisaragi name 如月 is from the Kanji 月= Moon)
to Kousuke and they confess to each other after that is like saying "Please wait for me!"
I'm assuming the author let us the readers to come out with what that's means instead of him giving Kisaragi and Kousuke a "marriage ending"

This chapter was a subpar boxing day gift. So I wouldn't even "re-gift"it.
Good on you PD for sticking to your schedule. I will read your version for continuity. Booo!!!

Kisaragi name 如月 is from the Kanji 月= Moon so i guess the reason why she gave the moon to Kousuke is because she's also willing to continue their relationship and wait until the time has come. There's another chapter that will be released after Chapter 62 it must be the epilogue chapter

Pretty mellow after everything that happened. It definitely feels like the talk with his daughter is missing.

The situation between Koto and her mom feels somewhat resolved at least, but that one had nothing more than a scene of Miya wondering whether she should forgive her father or not.
