One of the author's other works (also a gender bender, incidentally) got serialized so I'm guessing that became their whole focus the last few years.

This is a cute idea for a story though genderbent magical girls I don't think are widespread enough that the joke entirely lands IMO. There's definitely more these days than there used to be. This one did have promise though.
