@Lamer5799 I wouldn't necessarily discount him from being a "good guy" yet. His actions are currently outside the law but given the circumstances, it's hard to argue the law would necessarily help him, especially how stigmatized a murder is in Japan, justified or not. You could kill someone purely by accident after they assaulted you, and you and your family would be forever branded despite truly doing nothing wrong yourself. And this says nothing about the laws ability to adequately protect their family from such a large organized crime syndicate.

I think as he continues to go down this rabbit hole, his past fascination with these sorts of subjects may lead him to digging a bit further in than he needs to go, but right now, I would say he's a good guy at heart dealt a really shitty hand, and is fumbling through as best he can while trying to minimize collateral damage.
