Anybody remember which chapter did Jiho hold Dan-I’s hand while she was asleep? I can’t seem to recall it 🤔
 
@blackmagekt By the English translation's numbering, 124~126 but I'd suggest reading from about 120 or 121 because there's a slight difference in Jiho's behaviour from when they were playing the truth game.

The main difference between the novel and manhwa for the scene with Jiho and Chunyoung is that
the manhwa removed the alcohol. In the novel, Jiho just sort of blurts out whatever's on his mind because the alcohol removed some of his inhibitions but in the manhwa he's sober and normally has a lot of self-control so he still maintains a front while talking to the other guys and Chunyoung. In the novel, Jiho's a lot more honest (and desperate I guess) and talks about how he hates how jealous he'd get when Jooin hugged Dani, when Eunhyung pat her head, or even when Chunyoung looked at her with a fond gaze. The only solace for him was that no matter how affectionate any guy would be towards Dani, she'd never see any of them as men, much like himself. It was honestly kinda sad reading how Jiho was like, "I hate myself for being such a loser who can only be comforted by that fact." Poor guy. The novel didn't have the scene of Chunyoung asking Jiho if he still liked Dani. The fact that Jiho lied is something I attribute to the removal of the alcohol.

Jiho told Chunyoung he doesn't like Dani anymore even though his inner monologue shows he's scared he'll never be able to give up on her. I'm ready for the angst.

Another neat difference established between Chunyoung and Jiho here is that Chunyoung said he never reflected on his feelings for Dani. He never thought about the depth of what he felt for her, implying he's a little slow on the uptake. He's a bit impulsive so his actions are super honest and transparent. Conversely, Jiho is very self-aware and realized he liked Dani in 8th grade. That's why his inner monologues are so important - because a lot of the things he says and does betray his actual thoughts and feelings. He's much more cautious than Chunyoung.

@SilverMaze18 It's chapter 7. Jiho's been feeling like this since the beginning of the time skip.
 
This is some next level denial.
Her character development is like the phrase "one step forward two steps back".
When will she learn that those around her have feelings?
 
@practicallyuseful THe reason she is in denial is probably of a thought that she may disepire again. How would you feel that someone you loved....just disappeared, not knowing when you see her/him again? That what scares her.

That's true. I'm sure if this were to actually happen to me, I would live in constant fear.
But it makes the storyline a bit repetitive and a bit stale if we're stuck in this loop constantly.kinda also makes Dani seem too brain dead
I know we will see development a few chapters later but right now, it seems to be going nowhere.oh the irony

She knows they are her friends but she doesn't want to be their friend because this isn't 'her world'. She'd missed them too much if she leaves again and she does want to leave because she feels out of place. The only normie in a world of specials. She's only trying to protect her heart because it has been a shown they don't remember. Only she remembers them and gets abandoned. So she denies, denies, Dani-es *cough*
She's make really good progress tho. Been over 4-5 years the web novel time lol
 
It'll be very surprising that if the next chapter Ru-Da and Dan-i kiss, that the heavenly kings actually don't act up, at least not in front of her or maybe she'll slap the hell out of him
 
Thinking about it, it is perhaps a kind of ironic karma. If you remember how the blue-haired guy got close with Dan-i at the start, he became comfortable around Dan-i exactly because she showed no interest in him. I think he kinda hurt her feeling then at least a little too when he said that he liked her, but as a friend, because she was not interested in him.

And now it is exactly this quality of Dan-i that is going to torment him.

And is it significant that the white-haired guy could smell cigarette while talking on the balcony? Like, is someone listening in on them, or is it just a throwaway line to show someone in their room smoke?
 
@Volttekka Right?! I really don't like him, (and how it seems to me like he wants to cut Dan-I off from her friends when he has no right to ) and even if it's mean I'm glad Dan-I doesn't see him as a man
 
i just get a weird vibe from the blond kid he just seems highly manipulative and it seems like he’s trying really hard to isolate her from her friends.

though i do wish she’d open up more to them she’d lived in this world for however many years she should at least put a little more faith in them as friends. they’ve stood by you for so long and on top of it. when they did “disappear” from her life she was distraught yet she still hasn’t changed how she’s treated them only further allowing herself to get further from them.
 
Does anyone actually think that Lee Ruda is actually a girl??

Cause like honestly I’m not sure at this rate😅
