from where I read up to before I packed it in and gave up. The whole ex-girlfriendthing is so small and minor it barely qualified as a speed bump. This first guy is also rather inconsequential. The entire thing is about the powers of dark balancing out the powers of light. Basically light self power. Dark power of subordinates. No good and bad stuff except the fact the wielder of light so happens to be a dick head and the guy who has the power to dark is atleast decent sometimes.

the short no spoiler version is meh its not entirely what you think but its also not great. That being said I gave up on the novel early on so I might be wrong. As far as I'm concerned unless it does some weird stuff like the power of darkness becoming a harem member, its not really interesting enough for me to brute force my way thru.

@CptHornSwoggle I quiet like it, though it does get a little chaotic and messy in later parts.
But if you like the actual revenge fantasy stories you should like it, where it is not sugar coating the scenes and showing thing off frame, the 1st chapter should give you all you need to know if you'd like it or not.
