@jdexo1 Sounds like the Takagi-san series that everyone seems to love. I just... don't get it, especially the adult version that changed nothing except adding a smol Nishikata genderflip clone.

This is the point where I put a series on hold and wait for the END notice. For me, things should just get wrapped up. If the premise is they are married, in the manner people typically were at that time, then she's broaching the central reason why they are together. If these two are too embarrassed to do what marriage put them together for then there's nothing more to say.

At times I wonder why some authors constrain themselves to varying the same joke. Is it like an étude? I'm not trying to be negative though I know that sounds negative. I would think that having things develop, or even other random humor, would be easier to maintain interest (even for the author).

It's the premise and the hook. The moment the plot moves on from that, the story is over and it's just another romcom at that point. Not all the readers would be happy about that. In that case, it would be better to just write a sequel.

Well, you don't have to worry about variety. The author's other manga does plenty of that (to the point of introducing "other heroines") while keeping to the main heroine, so you could expect this one to be just as interesting.

Even though the husband's thought was completely different, the perceptive dream that Chiyo had had a feeling it was Onee x Shota.

I mean if the author is truly so uncreative that he can't figure out anywhere else to take the plot, then he should end it. But just retelling the same joke repeatedly is dumb as shit.

At this point, this manga should have been a one-shot. A story that can be told in 10 pages should not take up 100.
