I am getting more and more sure that her brother did one of three things. First one being killed himself and dumped himself in the river and the guy now blames himself. Second he basically killed himself using his friend (the MC) for so reason. Or third the Brother was actually a bad person and made the MC have to kill him and now the MC feels like he killed him.
