I like how the dumb asses from the last chapter didn't even realize, it was just means to test them. If you have guys willing to follow you after all you say that then maybe they're worth it. Whether or not he will do it/ achieve isn't relevant here. It might be his objective but he's just using it as a way to filter people and is aware of it : "they look scared", he says.
