I find it hard to believe that out of the entire class there's anyone who's actually intimidated by someone so honest, cheerful, and talked to by everyone. Something like her being attracted to Natsume (male) makes more sense. Also that is just the most wholesome high school I've ever seen. In every other high school Manga the students are either complete psychopaths and hardcore bullies, or ignore the MC entirely. This is just nice.

I’d imagine the IRL counterpart to Natsume(male) would be a person with paralyzed face muscles causing an eternal grin that looks straight outa Joker comics, and if Natsume(male) has social cue problems like excessive eye contact or little-to-no-blinking, I can easily see this happening in real life, just unlikely.

Especially when it seems Natsume(male) has only 2-3 friends in the whole school, and everybody else avoids him. Especially if he has a creepy voice, much of his enthusiasm could be misinterpreted as some creepy perverted interest by anyone unfamiliar with him.
