The issue with this one is that they could have chopped up this chapter to maybe 8 pages and we would still get the same amount of story since the "reset" just kills all the side chars we just learned about, making them absolutely pointless. Probably one of the worst first chapters of a manga in a very long time.

@monkey123 I just read the first chapter of Terra Formars just to remember it correctly, and that sets up a ton of stuff, while it does kill of one character, it is a solid plot point to show us how powerful the martians are. Here it showed us 3 characters that will not ever matter again after this chapter since the world got reset. The 3 friends had no meaning, nothing to develop the plot with. Trinity Seven did this in the correct way by not showing anyone but the "cousin" at the start and then wiping it.

I actually loved how the first chapter is paced, it doesn't immediately throw the readers into the event. Instead, it gives us some time to settle in with the main character: How he is, who are his friends and girlfriend. We get to learn a bit more about the world before everything comes crashing down. It's been a long time since I've seen a first chapter done like this.
