@talisay999, @Serenata, and @pink_rabbit: My impression is that Neeko's mom wants her daughter to come to this realization on her own -- that she could at least do a small-time job like this from home, to slowly build up her shattered confidence until she can actually go out and look for a more typical full-time job.

It's just that Neeko appears to have misunderstood her mom's signals as the usual condescension towards her NEET-ness.

I don't know if this will lead to her getting paid. If you've ever worked in graphic design, you'll know a lot of people don't think it's worth paying for (though they won't do it themselves for some reason).

Well, this kind of "favor" for community usually doesn't get paid by money, but being treat nicely by people around is kinda ok.
