The manga has done so much better at covering this arc than the LN/WN and honestly the rest of the story. I don't get why people are calling Masaru weak here though; he's rising to the challenge even if he's losing and clearly knows what he's fighting for. The purpose of the fight is contradictory to the rules they imposed on it but it's not egregiously bad, and it creates some actual tension, rather than just letting MC steamroll him from the start. Makes you feel like he's actually struggling to earn Tilica as a wife.

Rock Dandy seems fun though, hope he shows up later as well. Elizabeth is going to start aging fast if she doesn't cool it with those intense expressions lmao.

@jokerxhisoka 3 clarifications. Using golems is not on level of average, it drains a lot of mana so only very few mages can use it. And using combined magic is not easy feat either, Erie is B rank because of that.

And I don't know how the manga pulls the end of this fight but in the novel its different.

Masaru pulls a much bigger golem and simply steps on the noble boy golem

I think the manga is trying to show what moves can a golem pull and hopefully next chapter Masaru turns the tides with something he prepared prior to the match like with Narnia.

Something I can say to chill you out is that this is the last time Masaru lowers his guard before the battle is over.
