Claw machines cheat, the claw has a grip strength setting, most of the time it only grabs loosely, but sometimes it grabs strongly. Almost every time it is only possible to win during a strong grab.

If I remember correctly, out of every 12 pulls, there is only 1 strong grip for the claw.
