Neko Musume Michikusa Nikki - Vol. 19 Ch. 117 - Passing the Time with Human Figures at a Secluded Rooftop Parking Lot

It seemed from the previous chapter that there was some big misunderstanding and the baby wasn't actually stolen, as you'd expect from the cliche, but it turns out it was. Nice work by the author of inverting expectations by turning around the expected twist into something unexpected. Finally more info on the nameless priest's actions and motivations too. Good chapter overall.

That nameless priest intrigues me more than I've expected, and someone in appearance calmer than her sibling seems on the verge of going wild.
I'm looking forward for the next chapter, thanks mister France! 🤗

@Alhazred23 yeah well except:
Kenji Murakami did not find any legends that followed this explanatory text and posits that this is nothing more than a made-up imagination based on Sekien's otoroshi picture in the Gazu Hyakki Yagyō (where it perches atop a torii).
But then the critter is so obscure and poorly-attested even by youkai standards that arguably about anything goes anyway so eh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Interesting that Shishimaru is the one going off over the Monk's Insistent Terminology whereas Koma herself is preoccupied with entirely different matters obv cuz ghey af for Kurona :v tho.

@miyako19 Shishimaru is the best girl, change my mind o3o

I kinda agree that priest deserves some decking even if he had good intentions.

Wow. Shishimaru, the sweet, laid back little brother has just gone all Bruce Lee on us. (You gonna hurt MY sister? I don't think so!)

Koma and Shishimaru with their limiters thrown off are pretty damn awesome.

Wow some big backstory we got here, so Koma is some kind of Liondog divinity with a curse if I get it right.

Also, like I suspected, as a Bakeneko Kurona is really able to compete with Koma strength, meaning those guys really are high tier ayakashi.

I am a simple person, so if possible I would like to ask that sound effects get a translation - it can be slipped into the gutter between the panels and just say like "Sfx: Gororo ("rolling sounds")" or the currently popular humorous variation where it just says what the sfx implies and then ends it with 'noises', so "Heavy rolling noises" or "Wheel of fire noises".

What I find most interesting about this arch is that the mangaka is reaching to provide a better outcome for some or all of the youkai who have been placed in the drawings of the Old Priest.

shit, we've never seen him angry before. if they're really siblings, doesn't that mean he's also an otoroshi?

Thank you for continuing to translate this!
And oof, a lot drama in this arch, good stuff though.
