Yeah, the series of coincidences was a bit too convenient for the consort. It wouldn't surprise me if the man from Rong that he saved had somehow instigated the attacks on the borders, thus leading the events to flow favorably towards him to take advantage of.

she did the right move. He showed good ideas to be executed, but he did it by listening to meetings only employees are allowed to listen. He has personal /clan's plans. Even if he got "rightful" plans to help the empire, he shouldn't have offered at the moment. Now, he looks suspicious. He looks like a good man but is helping his clan or master. He is trying to help the empress, but he did it in a very bad way because if she were to follow those ideas without even looking at more ways nor more investigation, it would show that she is only a puppet and, a woman is not the right person to leade a nation.
This is not me talking in my current time. I am placing myself in their time. As one of those male ministers. I don't want that woman, unfavored princess, to remain in the Trone. An empress shouldn't lead the empire. She should lead the harem and stay away from the imperial court problems. Now, as an outsider looking at things. I can understand both sides. She has a lot on her plate to demonstrate she is not a stupid little child and can lead her empire and reform a new order of just having empress as the lead or have equality. Whoever is able to show a better promising leadership should be the next crown prince/princess.
Remove him from the harem. He showed that he is interested or someone is leading him to have power in the imperial court instead of just having power in the harem.
