I'm no sword expert. Nor a magician. But from what numerous isekai manga have taught me, as long as it can be considered a Katana, it is #1. And if magic does exist. It is an enchanted Katana, used as an alternate to magic, or in place of a wand/staff if possible. Now there are the few exceptions, but if the MC/FMC is not wielding one, one of their party members is (ex: Arifureta).

Arifureta did make sense in that regard though. Shizuku was already trained in the way of the katana, so of course she would use one. Obviously still a cliche, but I'll give it credit for not having a character use a katana just because they're from Japan.

As long as they're not up against heavily armored enemies unless it's enhanced / buffed /magicked up to hell, sure, a katana could be #1 for ones who know about it.
If they're up against that type of enemies, and it's not buffed in any way, and the user is not buffed in any way, well...
If they still succeed by slashing, it's either over-pride or legitimate falsification.

That being said, if the MC ever gets ahold of some quite legendary 'native' swords, they tend to be rather OP as well. But those swords are either never mentioned, already have owners, break in the combat to get them or when the MC actually gets one, they're already rather OP (if they get them early on, they tend to be transformable into female humanoids)

But katanas on the other hand. Noone tends to be able to or want to use them. Meaning they tend to be on sale for cheap if the MC finds them that way.

she basically does rescue herself in the WN. A monster, a mimic, that the demon girl created disguised herself as Shion and in a audience when she presented herself to the hero and king the monster grew giant and released a poison on the royal court that made the hero and everyone else, including the royal family, deathly allergic to women, so much so that just grazing them would cause extreme pain and a rash. Imagine what happend to the hero’s favorite past time then.
