Man, the novel was okay when it bothered to actually have revenge. Honestly, the revenge is absolutely nuts. But it builds and builds, oh this guy that wronged the protagonist? He also wronged him another way, while mocking him. Don't forget that he wronged him the first way, though. Just to make sure you don't, here's a slightly different memory of that first event. Dude I already hate the guy, I know what he did. "Oh now do you? What if I said that while he was doing his second evil thing, he was somewhat smug about it? And also while acting smug, he smugly redescribed the first evil thing with a smug expression just to smugly twist the knife? And know here's that villains manservant to describe his point of view of the exact same scene again." Though I will say that the actual dismantling of the villains is top tier revenge porn.

The other issue is the side characters. Slave girl,okay yes, she's nuts, trust issues,on the verge of death after nearly having her mind completely break. But second girl, the obligatory elf Loli, goes from literal "oh no, ahhhh big sister no wahhhhh I'm so innocent don't harm me big sis" to "you fucking goddamn fucking shit asshole fuck I'll shit down your throat". Almost verbatim over like three sentences of exposition, and she pretty much keeps talking like that forever unless it's to MC. Its jarring, but not as jarring as when MAJOR SPOILER

he gets reversed isakeid back home by the priest and loses his memories. I dropped it about three chapters into that, because once he stops having an obvious target he is actively working towards, his character stops functioning . I'm sure it's a trick, he'll get sent back,or something else will happen, but the melodrama when he isn't in the process of actively killing a scumbag is so bloody mediocre
