Niehime to Kemono no Ou - Vol. 7 Ch. 38

It's kind of funny. Anubis doesn't even dislike her, he just wants her gone because he sees it as human = unpopular = threat to his bestie's rule. So he's totally missing the fact that she's in the middle of winning over the public one piece at a time and making his bestie a better, stronger ruler, which will also lead to popularity. Overall, in the medium term she's gonna be good on his terms, but he's stuck in his initial assessment. Ironically, she's on the path to popularity precisely because he keeps setting her these tough tasks so she looks awesome when she passes them with flying colours.

@Purplelibraryguy
You're right. Still, I can understand where he's coming from: the fact remains that the vast majority of the country only knows her as "the human girl our king wants to marry" and they don't like it. Sure, Saliphie has a great talent to prove herself to the naysayers... but for that, she needs to have the chance in the first place. Realistically speaking, she can't go to every single noble and convince them she's great. And there will always be people like Anubis who, despite seeing her at her best, still can't accept her.

@Misticsan Well, realistically speaking, why can't she? There are only so many nobles, after all. The population should be small enough for retail politics to work. But her rep should start to spread too, as she keeps doing awesome things. The old sea guy has huge cred, for instance--if she's OK by him that's pretty much his whole nation in the bag and it is likely to make some others start wondering.
What Anubis needs to be doing if he really wants to keep his king afloat is investing in some pro-Saliphie troubadours.
