Niehime to Kemono no Ou - Vol. 7 Ch. 39

Ya know, the king does not use his leverage enough. He needs to make a couple threats here and there. As in, to Anubis: "You are my faithful and trusted counsellor and I value you greatly. But. If she doesn't come back alive, neither do you."
Plus if it was me, I'd have leaned on Jormungandr to lead her guards. He'd do it if the king asked. His prestige would attract others, and he's someone who can be trusted.

It's interesting that this new character is from the hyena clan. Got me thinking... back when Ilya kidnapped Saliphie they encountered some hyena clan people. When Ilya started attacking the hyenas (and was about to kill a child) Saliphie stopped him and told them to run. Maybe this new character is somehow related to that incident? A relative of the kid, maybe... Would make sense as to why he would want to join the queen if he knew she was the one who saved the hyenas before.

Saliphie got herself a royal guard.

Now do you know what Anubis needs?
He needs a girlfriend. Yes. He needs a lil wild randevous and let lose, so that he can see something else exist except "Saliphie is a threat" 😂😂😂

Only one?
Something tells me that Anubis didn't inform the Oceanic tribe.

@Bladrio: I was wondering if Anubis even let people into the courtyard at all?

@anaterunaps: That is a great idea and a brilliant call back to that.

I just want Anubis to learn his great and powerful King becomes a human on these full moons.

Am I the only one who doesn't hate Anubis that much? 😂 Especially after his backstory, he just looks like a big grumpy tsundere to me... Of course, I'd like him to open up a little, let's see if this hyena fellow can help with that!

@amaterasunaps
I had forgotten about ch. 14. Interestingly, those hyenas seemed to be bandits. They lived in a seemingly abandoned town and lamented about the armistice. What if this new guard not only wants to serve the human who protected one of theirs, but also see this job as the chance to improve his clan's standing?

@isoycrazy
I don't think Anubis would stoop so low so as to block their entrance. I find it more likely if he just did the barest minimum to announce the job offer.

Well, given that anubis didn't actually go and give her some "loyal guards", this guy's credibility about wanting to be her guard is maybe real in my opinion...but then again anubis always puts some sort of tricks on sali so....hopefully the guy really is a good guy.
