Having looked at Kawakami Masaki's other works, it's obvious that they didn't rush the art in this one. The pacing is really good here. The windup on the last panel of page 11 was especially noteworthy.

@Velsy it wouldn't have been a good idea to let the MC defeat the boss as the whole purpose for him was to for everyone in the party to open up and trust each other more thus leaving the takedown to Karan.
Also just because he specializes in CQC does not mean he will be able to defeat an enemy far stronger than him with just a knife unless he could aim for the vitals which could be argued to put him at risk. He seems to be a rogue with a few tricks and good evasion meaning he can easily take on small fry but at best distract a boss whose defense is probably higher than is comfortable to get in close for a kill.

@MonsieurFudge: They can still refuse to trust anyone outside the party and still keep to the title, especially considering they'll have to 'save the world' they will need to work together well.

Considering the history of Sem and Tiana, there's room for their past colleagues to come stirring trouble (especially that yandere girl)
Like, say, threaten to spread their past deeds around to hurt the party's reputation which by then should be more important to them than the gambling/sex they initially used to vent their stress.

Karan's case would depend on how much the asshole care about his past potentially getting revealed if/when Karan run into them again.
He can use her 'precious thing' to threaten her about it maybe.

Nick's case is the least problematic since his story has more weight in how personal it was more than the event itself, unless the guy who got him kicked get jealous about his new party doing well and try to disrupt them.

@Arkos hes using a short sword, not a knife and was suppose to be called a fighter. While the plan was for Karan to take it down, she fucked up, and he was in the position to do it. MC acting like he needed to be saved and having to wait for Karan to run and kill it really was really unimpressive. So we going to go through many events where MC needs his bacon saved. :/ Was under the impression he had the experience to fight it. But guess I was wrong. Which leads to the disappointment. Even more so when he bragged how great he was, but it was all false.

CQC is refering to fighting close range. like handed combat. Doesnt matter if they are stronger, doesnt matter if they are weaker, makes no difference. So calling himself a specalist, he should be adapt at that range.

I doubt his followers are stronger than her; I guess they were just discriminating that much.
