@nfzeta I never claimed being self-centered makes you a villain. I said that it is what villains are (to point out that disney-villains that are evil for evils sake are unrealistic, and all (non-crazy) villains have motives). Even my following examples show that their (potential) villainous ways would just make them villains as a side-effect (though I can see the girl intentionally be mean to other girls, to secure her own position and dissuade rivals).
And there is no question they are anything but villains: they even try to sell their childhood friend into slavery for their own benefit!

@nzfeta I did exaggarate quite a bit for effect, but is it not a fact that she is forced into being a saintess against her will with nothing to say against it (though there is a distinct lack of trying to say anything against it), and no pay for it (though some would argue that slaves can get paid, but I am fairly sure there is another word for that)? Although I suppose we have not yet been shown whether she is paid or not, but I doubt it as it seems like she is given anything she needs/wants (so any pay would be superfluous).

@RanaRana The term in JP is 聖女 (Seijo, lit. Holy + Woman). While Holy Woman/Maiden is also a possibility, Saintess is a perfectly legitimate translation, so I'm not sure why you take such issue with it.

Saint is commonly also used for women, so saintess sounds weird to me.
Saintess is something I've only seen in the context of translated manga and light novels and the like.
Vaguely remember a character in an anime using it, so that makes me think it's a japanese use of an english word.
