Nito no Taidana Isekai Shoukougun: Saijaku Shoku "Healer" nano ni Saikyou wa Cheat desu ka? - Vol. 1 Ch. 2

@Aretheus while I 100% agree with you on the heal inverse being overpowered (probably justified by it being a "mischief" and thus for the god's entertainment is buffed). The mimic was level 500, we don't know what the MC's new level is. Just that it's a lot higher than it was. Still kind of an asspull, but we don't know how much of one it is yet.

Look, I get it, at this point instant level ups shouldn't surprise me anymore but would it kill them to write about the journey from weak to strong without the need to power level their MC in the first three chapters, or god forbid, instant cultivation power ups?

@Riri : mimics tend to be mostly stationary, but level does not mean it is fast. Though he got lucky.

@Wolvenworks : or it spawned at that level, like the monsters in most series.

@icarushector :
150 , at least in the webnovel. manga should be based on the LN which would change some things I think he leaves the dungeon round 700.

@OgretailFood : some series do, some do not. but slow growth means time in both story and world, and if that is not the point, it can be a waste of chapters.

The best way for the mischief reversal skill to work without being too overpowered would be if, the mischief part of it meant the skill would reverse something to a random degree. For example, reversing heal to damage but, the power of that damage could be debuffed or buffed randomly each time you use it, and the more powerful the skill is for healing the bigger the chance of a debuff to the reversal instead of a buff. That way it would be more balanced while still being a powerful skill if used the right way. It would still be a bit overpowered if the author chose to give the lowest healing ability a 100% of a huge buff on reversal, making it pointless to even bother with taking a risk at a lower buff chance with a bigger return on more powerful skills.

Ah, another revenge is what I must have but first first lemme level up in one night type of manga. I'mma read it till it gets boring and turn into happy harem.

Spoiler : This chapter is rigged.

A LEVEL 500 MIMIC COULDN'T KILL A LOW LEVEL HUMAN IN ONE SHOT.
Plus one attack from a low level human no matter how strong the ability it is should not be able to instant kill a level 500 mimic. Also heal is a target only spell, but the reverse version is an AOE from the looks of it. If he used this ability on a human I better expect it to one-shot someone.

I meant, I expected this would happen, but man this is so trash.

*followed*

@LokiAsengott
Hey, Hero Healer Redo is kino, but not as kino as Kino Seeker tho.

@xininja
I recently started seeing more and more stories doing precisely that; having the novice MC insta-kill a much stronger foe, when it should be impossible, seemingly just so the MC can instantly become high-leveled.
I never expected much from these stories, but these authors somehow managed to find a new low to drop to.

Well here's another isekai to add to the pile of garbage, I doubt its gonna get better if this is what we are seeing already in chapter 2

this reversal turns weak into strong ,healing into destruction and it probly turns cure+enhancement into illness+curse
it allready sounds op

@sjmcc13 @Riri
If it's a traditional Mimic [that is, from settings where they're high-level creatures, rather than trash mobs ala D&D-style settings], it has overwhelming defenses against non-magical attacks, strong defenses against basic magic, and strong, penetrating attacks that can perhaps even destroy even magical equipment. As startling as it is that he'd survive an attack from such a creature, "erosion/decay/negative-energy magic being its weakness" isn't too far-fetched a consideration. It being strong enough as a level 1 spell to insta-kill the Mimic? Yeah, that's a bit more iffy. The whole thing feels forced, but it still feels fairly reasonable on the broad strokes. So it's about the same as most any manga of this style.

That said, the one thing we CAN acknowledge, is that mimics aren't fast (as sjmcss13 touched on). The entire reason mimics camoflague themselves and don't typically initiate attacks is *because* they're slow, despite their strength. Their usual strategy is to surprise attack, and then move to cut off the escape route, using its superior defensive stats and its ability to transform out appendages such as tentacles to its advantage in dominating the small room it has taken charge of. Again, it's hard to explain why the mimic buggered up its initial attack pattern so badly [maybe it wanted a sample bite, and ended up not liking the taste of the MC's arm?] but the (MC escaping a level 500 creature) bit is actually one of the few fully justifiable considerations in the encounter.

That said, I've decided to interpret the matter with the mimic being comparable to a slime. Changeable, overpowering, easily regenerated outer body, fragile inner core. So I'm interpreting the matter as [amazing regen and adaptability] countered by [MC destroying core with a lucky shot]. Seems like the best way to explain the insta-kill. :p
That or the mimic has been spending all its level-up bonuses on gourmet skills. :p

Also, I'm pretty sure the mimic was completely wasted at the time of the encounter. I mean, look at it stumbling to form coherent words, and stumbling about. Clearly drunk.

I'm mad about that, they could've had the premise be something like "Erosion's damage is subtle DoT, and the mimic isn't triggered by it" instead of "it one shots the hell out of the super high level enemy".

Either way he was destined to have super rapid power upping which I also don't like, but it could've at least pretended the rapid leveling is the only reason he's gonna consistently steam roll from now on, not that skill being way OP from the start.

It could've beat the mimic as a niche scenario that it doesn't attack automatically and something like 'erosion' being just a subtle eroding, which would've made sense.
