I would think because in his eyes she's real and he's totally head over heels for her. He probably just wants to show her off just because he loves her so much. Like, imagine she was real. With how he treats her, I could totally see him being the type to shout to the world "Look at my beautiful wife! I'm the luckiest man alive!"
