@Xunder the plural of manga is mangas same way the plural of anime is animes, plural of tsunami is tsunamis, plural of kindergarden is kindergardens and singular of muffins is muffin. thats how loanwords work in english. same way in japanease- loan english words don't get a 'su' in plural or lose it in singular.
there might be langueges where loan words retain the plural form of their original languege, but english is not one of those.

You're both correct and incorrect. The logic behind people treating the plural of manga as manga and the plural of anime as anime generally stems from the fact that they're originally Japanese words. Many Japanese nouns don't have a plural form, anime/manga included, which is where the "plural form of manga is manga" comes from. But if it's being used as a loanword, and at this point it basically is, loanwords don't retain their original language's grammar. It's common in English to add an s/es to them to make it plural, and in other languages as well. Mangas would also be correct in German, Portuguese, French, etc.

But this doesn't mean that "manga" treated as a plural is incorrect. It works properly to refer to a collection of things such as the words "literature" or "government." They work properly with singular or plural verbs based on the context, but you shouldn't freely change between singular and plural between sentences.
