Noragami - Vol. 22 Ch. 87.2 - The Way to Darkness

y'know...i can't get myself to hate yukine, he's a teenager who's annoying and sometimes seeks for attention using some bad ways, and that's the thing yukine is a teenager who just wanted to live and just wanted to be...happy...i can't get myself to hate characters who seem dumb because something hurt them so badly...i just hope yato can get to him cuz living a lie isn't true happiness, you gotta accept everything as it is and learn from it...

@sammcih same. Like Yukine was pretty bratty at first but honestly it's not shocking why. He died SO young and based on what we're learning about him, he didn't have much of a life when he was still alive. Yato attempts to protect Yukine sadly have driven Yukine away but that makes sense for both of them. It's just a shitty situation that I hope Yato and Hiyori can fix.

I really don't get the hate for Yukine, the poor boy has had too much to go through and still has the mental level of a child. His reactions to his situation are realistic.

This isn't your typical shounen where a person's character development never regresses no matter what their circumstances are.

The bigger question remaining is who/what the Father really is. The series has been dancing around this mystery for so long.
I mean, even Akatsuki no Yona is starting to answer the mysteries of the past.

@mutsutakashi Likely small feudal nations within Japan, back in the days before unified governments.

THIS FANDOM IS IN NUTSHELL

PROTECT MY SMOL LITTLE SUNSHINE

HURRY UP HIYORI YATO

I NEED REUNION OF THESE THREE

😭😭😭😭

@Hitomi_Higurashi I get the unrest. He’s been the main source of 90% of the conflict, so you get frustrated readers sick of Yukine being the main focus all the time and wanting something relatively new. Now, I’m fine with it because I’m not binging and chapters come out sparsely, but binging, you get multiple arcs where Yukine’s teenage angst just saturates the story.

Time to slap some reality into Yukine. He is subconsciously feeling unease next to father. This will get rough in the following chapters.

TBF Yukine has always been the most annoying char in the series, this arc just further solidifies that and imo he'll continue being an annoying twat if the series goes on past this arc.

Damn those gods killing homans! I shall avenge by killing more humans!

Dang the yukine hate in the comments makes me sad, guys is it that hard understand that hes a 14 year old kid who is just now uncovering the horrible aspects of his past and teeting towards a breakdown bc he cant cope? The same kid with a yearing for parental affection that he thought he had before he died? Father is emotionally manipulating Yukine so much right now and it's going to be terrible.

can't blame yukine for the way his character is just becoming worse and worse but also this arc is becoming frustrating and not enjoyable lol

Yukine right now are worthless. The author portrayed him as an angsty brat, now what?

You can't expecting a brat like that to improve in few weeks just because the plot demands it so. It's puberty, it's gonna took few years for him to be mature.

The author try to play it close to real life mentality, yet Yukine will have a shonen plot improvement at the end of this arc, else Hiyori will died (because she stucked in spirit form until the arc is over), and the series become dragged too long just because the plot are about waiting a puberty teenager for being mature

This chapter just made me realize Yukine has never really grown up. Hopefully now he's gonna get a reality check and learn to let go. Not that that ever made me dislike his character (as a vehicle for the human side of the spirit world, he's great), but he's still causing more problems than working them out.

Also, some Yatori when? I need my shipping fix, Adachitoka!
