Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha - Vol. 4 Ch. 16 - Magic Contract

meh in a magical world slavery could be on a whole 'nother level. magical slavery would ensure she still gets to live while guaranteeing that she won't be a further liability to the MC. Though I will say that the way it was delivered was poorly done, they could have had a special name for it or something like call it being magically bound to lento where you would actually have to think about the meaning a little bit.

I mean death is too dramatic and doesn't actually guarantee anything especially if they decide to do it at the cost of their life, in which case they can do it in a most damaging way, where if they were a slave it would be up to him to decide an appropriate punishment and he could also get information on what info was released.

Then again the fact that they gotta go to another country to do all this... does kind of defeat the point... in fact I'd say that fact makes it more problematic than its worth.

@macarroiz @lolmaolol It was posted more or less a week ago on the scanlators' site. It was also uploaded here, but with delay settings. Either you read it on their website, or on an aggregators' which didn't respect the scanlators' delay policy. 🤡

@abyssalMonkey obviously the mere mention of a system, that has been used this way in the past, as a deterrent to breaking a contract in a way which showed both her resolve and her trust in Lento and unlikely to ever be acted upon because Lento isn't the kind of person to demand something that she would be forced to break, or in such a way that she would accidentally break, is sexual in nature.

I can't really think of anything else she could offer that would show both resolve and trust. Death is a non-option as Lento would not even think about letting it go that far, nor would I consider it adequate punishment as death does not compensate any damages to Lento should she break the contract.

She wants the bone.

@alacaelum He probably doesn't know either since it's one of those popular pictures spread all over on fucking cancerous sites like pinterest. This seems to be the original according to safebooru: https://twitter.com/llaroll/status/945454906223181824

@AbyssalMonkey sorry if I presented in a way that seemed against you. I was being sarcastic and agreeing with you.

Bust out laughing when the slave contract came up.

@Kolmar she might not be a slave yet, but when slavery contracts have become so rife in manga as a way to build harems, seeing it come up here just feels like chekhov's gun waiting to be shot. It's also really suspicious that the only text of the contract we've been shown at all is the text about her becoming a slave, and not whatever contractual clauses Lento ended up writing in (which I'm guessing one will be poorly worded and she'll accidentally stumble into slavery by triggering it).

@lexy @anotherone You both are quite daft, what do you think would be of value to someone from their era?

Money is hardly of use to a stranger when the risk of being killed in a few seconds is suddenly placed before them. Obviously your body, experience and skills can assist in getting out of a perilous dilemma or be used as a sacrifice. The fact it's a mutual transaction should show the tone is strictly about business. Perhaps both of you should reflect on your text and personal thoughts since apparently stereotyping so freely has become second nature.

Let's start a list of isekai triggers:
[ol]Japanese food (esp. soy sauce and miso)
Slavery
Milquetoast MC (only when it comes to the opposite sex)[/ol]

It's kind of like isekai bingo, but only with the most hot-button topics! 🙃

*Sigh*

The whole point of the contract was to show how much she trusts him but in current year with the Leddit and Tumbr crowd I should know this comments would happen, even when people go around saying "Isekai".

@Exile but of course. because even when you have pizza there will always be one guy who says "i hate pizza" on the net anyway, so why bother? unless ofc that person starts to "very loudly express his misinformed opinion about pizza in general to cause conflict"
