Ohayou Toka Oyasumi Toka - Vol. 1 Ch. 1 - A New Life

What a shitty parents.
Though kids have money to rent place to live so I see no reason for them to live with their brother. At most he can supervise them but this is actually their mother's work.

I can't understand an attachment to a home. Maybe because I've moved around my whole life, never living in one location for more than 5 or 6 years on average, and sometimes as few as 3.

Well, I partially take that back, now that I think about it. I am attached to my grandparent's old home. Unlike me, they never moved once they got that house, more than half a century ago. I was thinking of buying it for myself, but was dissuaded out of doing so. Which was the right choice in retrospect, because that house needs so much work done on it. Luckily, it stayed in the family after my grandfather's death, because my cousin and her husband bought it.

In any case, I must say... the mother of those girls must be fucking awful. It can't be legal to just throw away your daughters like that. And it looked like they had just one bag of clothing and toiletries with them, held by the older sister, Hotaka? Not even 3 suitcases with wheels? Are the rest of their clothes going to be shipped later? What about any non-clothing possessions they had? Call child protective services on that damned woman. Get the courts after her ass.

Their dad is a bit of douche too. "Surprise, son. You have three half-sisters." Fuck you, old man. *shakes fist*

I can understand MC's viewpoint, since I live alone too, and I very much enjoy it. I'd be pissed if suddenly half-siblings showed up at my door expecting to live with me and disrupt my awesome bachelor life.

Yeah, make him feel guilty for no reason. Force your own convictions upon him, everyone! You're all so better than him, after all.

I despise those that abhor change for no reason. Change means you're alive, and not stuck in your own tomb. Though not all change is good, mind you.

Who in their right mind goes on "a journey" and abandons their kids to their grown up brother?

Or remarries and throws their kids from a previous marriage out?

If you can't manage kids, don't make them.

In the same circumstances, I'd call the police on the shitty father AND on the shitty mother.

You-never-knew-what-you-had-until-you-lost-it

This manga is literally the exact opposite of 3 gatsu no lion

@Kirin-kun Yes, forget taking them to a family restaurant or home I'd be taking them to the police first thing. It must be against some kind of law to just abandon children (especially the twins) with out a guardian with a note, and just hope they make their way to their older brothers place just fine. The Father didn't even tell him they were coming over, if they disappeared no one would know for months. And where the hell is the mother in all this, just because you remarry doesn't mean you can drop all responsibility to your children because they are a so called "inconvenience" If nothing else the Father should be arrested for not paying child support (least in my country where if your not in custody of the child your still have to pay for their support, and if you have custody you have to be in custody and actually be there taking care of them)

Well, that's a new twist on the child abandonment trope....get married, so you can abandon your kids to the child of your new marriage partner.

The MC should report their mother for child neglect. Apparently his own mom is still alive, I wonder what she would think of her husband marrying a new woman just to foist the new wife's kid on their kid.
