Okashiratsuki - Vol. 1 Ch. 3 - When It Rains, It Pours

If he's being hesitant to her confession, It's not surprising. She was treating him poorly before that.

Thank you for the chapter! I might have jumped out of my seat when I saw this being translated.

Can I just say I love the pacing Sahara Mizu's works. She a lot of concise, satisfying reads. Like this chapter, she shows each character's perspective on the confession thing and then immediately moves towards the resolution(or at least the next step -- talking to the man again). And the cliffhanger on the last page? It doesn't feel cheap like most cliffhangers because we're already expecting Utsumi's family to be a little weird after seeing his pigtail and magic leaf. It's just interesting! Exciting! Exclamation points cannot express how excited I've gotten! Help!

Thanks for scanlating this manga, I finally catch up to the latest chapter. I don't know why but I feel intrigued by the story on this manga has to offer. Looking forward for what would happen in the future.

Glad Utsumi has a friend/wingman to help him out. These characters are really enjoyable so far.

It's always really satisfying to see a true bro. Utsumi's family is definitely weird, and I think part of that is the reason he's being so deliberate with Hiyama's confession. He is probably feeling like, "I well, I like her but it wouldn't be fair to drag her into my weird family, she might hate me if she finds out the truth, etc." I think he's trying to be considerate of her feelings (all on his own) rather than talking to her about it... so I feel like her meeting his family now is going to clear a lot of that up.

Also, if we're getting a 'three little pigs' reference (with the straw, wood and brick house' thing, and the pigtail... does that mean at some point the big bad wolf is going to appear?

(Also, who turns in a lost dollar to the police station? Does she think the police are going to be able to track down the owner or something? Weird kid. Put it in your pocket!)

@LysandersTreason. I sure hope not that a big bad wolf will appear. because that usually spells love triangle and drama, and maybe way worse stuff too. BUT, With this one I feel like it will be more psychological stuff, not actual crimes.

@dotawolfbrother
yes yes and YES! Sahara Mizu's works are amazing at that, and everything else! I can't believe I've slept on this gold mine all this time.
You know, I can definitely see influences from Adachi Mitsuru's works in many manga of this genre (well, genre is a little broad, but more like thematically), but I think Mizu's works show it the clearest.
The little nuances, the subtle facial expressions, the still shots, the sky/environment panels in between, the steady pacing and interesting cliffhangers, the slow but introspective dialogues, and most important of all, the realistic characters.
aaaaaaaaaa, thanks to Mizu sensei, I'm in love with manga again!
