I have to admit I laughed because of your comment though. That'd be kinda funny in a way. The mc is, after all, a bit too pathetic and cowardly, so his reactions would be gold worth. Maybe it'd force him to make a decision or finally take any decision by himself, even if he killed someone it'd still be hilarious and a positive change to his previous attitude.
The dad is kind of hilarious though. I wish my father was a funny drunk as well, too bad he's the obnoxious kind. Well, thanks to him I decided never to drink in my entire life and haven't had a single drop of alcohol up til now, and I'm 24.
By the way, how many caught on to that hidden death threat in this chapter? He said he'll send him to his mother's place, but she's dead... So he's threatening to kill him
Oh, another thing. The "sake" part should've been translated as "alcohol". "Sake" can mean both the alcoholic rice wine we all know AND it can mean alcohol(all kinds of alcoholic beverages, as long as it's in japanese), but when translating it, you have to decide. Here he brought beer, then it needs to be translated as "alcohol" since "sake" is always the rice wine beverage in english, it doesn't have the meaning of "alcohol" once translated into english. Doesn't matter much, but I don't like errors such as that.
