@Scrwd Well, he has to be like that so he doesn't get attacked for coins or forced into giving them up. He has no choice. Either pull the undefeatable villain play or eventually having to kill them all when they try to backstab him for coins

what I like about this is that mc does things with a reason. in most novels the mc would have saved them only for deus ex machina things to even out the losses. no gravity in those choices. here at least there is some depth in the choice he made and mc was thinking ahead was not just focused on the present. only thing better imho would have been if he anticipated this scenario and was looking for other ways to solve this only to come to the same conclusion instead of having like only 10 minutes to react to this.
