they addressed the misunderstanding, but in such a terrible way that it added to the misunderstanding. ahhhhhg. he took it to be that she felt it was unnecessary to come out and see him/properly "reject" him (since he believed she rejected him). and she meant that he wanted to reject her in a way to show that he likes someone else (that random girl who was probably the one confessing to him)

at least they tried talking about it and they seem pretty calm. i'm really liking this story. it's a good mix between cliched misunderstandings and actually trying to be chill/mature
