One Punch Man (Webcomic/Original) - Ch. 117

Is One still drawing these or does he have people helping him? His artwork has gotten a lot better since the beginning.

Awww. And here I was, hoping Saitama would have a whole horde of ninja stalkers after this arc.

Oh well, let's see how Commanding (/Leadery) Leader? does. Although it's doubtful he'll survive, since he seems to be the big bad in the arc, and he's standing on a building not unlike one of those in Sonic's home place, where Saitama is roaming about. Somehow I don't think Saitama and this leader guy would really get on very well with each other if they meet.

not to hate on murata's version but im so relieved to see a fight scene end in a timely manner while still giving us character defining moments and some humor. murata's a talented artist but the manga feels bloated in comparison...

@Mnuchinboo
no
and it's preposterous that the One Punch Man title is not attributed to this version
the other version should be just called One Punch Man [fanmade]

It was nice to see sonic and flash working together but man do I really wish I could skip into the future to see peoples reactions to saitamas house being the prime hang out spot for the majority of s-class heros

@havelmom
I completely agree with you, after all the title <One Punch Man> screams GAG Manga and not Action/Fighting Manga.
Besides, i really love the dynamic of this art style, is fast and crude, just like the manga premise. Murata version is a visual fest, but imho it lacks the crudeness of this one.

The synonym route is funnier in that way where it works as a parody of battle manga character nicknames. They're cool at first until you think about them haha

@mister_nobody Im mot a Murata hater, i really like his art, is just that sometimes he just add stuff and make arcs longers and lose the charms that this one brings just like the current arc that probably will take a lot of years to finish and the pace is worst than this. This is just my opinion and others might feel different.

For the record @Mebravo, ONE comes up with the story so anything new added in the Manga is because ONE wants it that way. I do agree that the webcomic is better

I love the webcomic, but the manga just does it better. Just wait until Murata gets to the Garou fight. ONE's paneling genius matched with Murata's unparalleled art. And then we've got Tats vs Saitama to look forward to.

@Assaultsquirt, I think theres probably a divide in how someone who prefers the manga and someone who prefers the webcomic read opm. I think ONE is a competent artist in his own right and I like how his artstyle complements both the action and the more comedic aspects of the story. I feel like the manga version sacrifices overall pacing and comedy for a more polished style and longer fight scenes. If you prefer the latter then the manga's for you, but some aspects of opm are really only present in the webcomic

@sleepyknight

Sure, ONE is good in his own regard, but not nearly as good as Murata. They're working together to make a better version, remember. There's no filler in the manga other than the action scenes Murata draws to pad out ONE's story boards. He gave Murata a 50+ page story board for the Phoenix Man fight, so it taking so long was mostly ONE's fault. I think the pacing in the manga is how ONE intended it to look from the start were he not always coming down with back pain/the Japanese Cold/laziness and had better art skills.

@Assaultsquirt, Its entirely possible all the changes are due to ONE's influence, but regardless he's still drawing the webcomic in his original style with pacing that's more in line with what webcomic readers are used to, which is like, probably the best possible result for everybody

I'm laughing at the explanation of ninja names. Thank you, it's educational and entertaining.
