It's kinda sad that Manaka's affections was chosen to be ended by a misunderstanding but the author did say their intent was to do a lolicon manga and they didn't even think it was yuri really so it's the natural course of this manga. I wonder how they'll chose to approach the issue of Koko eventually growing up.

It's nice to see a manga actually addressing the whole falling out of love when they grow up for a lolicon. If you put aside your disgust/horror at an adult being interested in a child, that aspect of things is really sad for the ones that are only attracted to children. They're doomed to always fall out of love over and over their whole life in the best case, or be forever alone if they chose not to act on their interests.
