It's a comedy, it is parodying generic sad backstories that are given to justify evil actions of villains in battle Shonen, did you all really not get that?

Oh it didn't really clicked on me until now that "Augmented Oni" would be a pretty useless ability all-around in the Underworld. You can't uses it on Oni or any being with any element of Oni in it, and even when you did manage to amass an army, aside from numbers, they can't really overpower any Oni that matters.

Honestly having his backstory about being bullied because he got that useless ability is much more believable than what we have here, lol.
