Had mahiro really wanted to go back to being a guy he would have acted like it was a coincidence finding his little sister and her friends in the same inn he was staying at. For where mahiro (girl body) was they could have come up with some sort of excuse.

But since the plot is all about him accepting to live as a girl then of course that thought would never have occurred to him.

From what i see, Mashiro doesn't give a crap about living as a boy or a girl - he just doesn't want to live as himself. Which of course is no wonder.

That's escapism, or fully developed avoidant personality disorder, sprinkled with heavy dose of self-hatred.
