Personally, I like the short length, as long as it's no more than a week between chapters. It's fun to take just a minute and read something cute and wholesome while the world's burning. I'm following a dozen series like this one. Short-chapter fluff mangas have an audience, not sure how big though. Most of these really short rom-com fluff mangas are nearly identical too: if you like one, you'll like the other 12 just like it.

Plus, if I hate a chapter, reading it wasn't a huge time-sink.

To each their own.
