Actually, Japan has its own women's league for baseball (JWBL) with proper seasons and all; there are also a number of highschool clubs participating in their own national competition too for girls. But girls' baseball can't be as big as male baseball, especially if we're talking about highschool level there (can't even compare really), and girl teams are not found just anywhere. Koshien's still a big and faraway hurdle for highschool girl baseball, but I hope they make it someday.
