It's not that much cheaper to increase the time limit, it also doesn't change the fact that death at the time limit isn't the only effect of the curse and the other one is excruciating pain often. Extending the time limit doesn't do shit about that, even if he were willing to pay the 5k or whatever LP to extend the timer a bit.

Sure it's not something you want to keep having and will probably feel pretty good once it stops but when you've been living with something like this for a while and it becomes a rather constant annoyance it becomes rather easy to tune out.

That and odds are that editing the curse from mark of 16 to something like mark of 17-18 would likely only cost 3000 at most.
Well, my real issue is that he hasn't even checked to see how much editing the curse would cost in the first place. An extra year to get enough to remove it would take back some of the tension rather than have it to the wire like this. I mean, fucking hell..... actually now that I'm looking at the end of chapter 12 again they might be a bit too late anyway.

It's not 'fainting spells', I pretty much just spelled out for you that her entire nervous system gets wracked by incredible pain and it happens more and more frequently as she's gotten older. You don't just "tune out" something like that.

I already told you what it cost from the WN, it would have been over 5000. The manga may not bother mentioning it as it cuts out some details, but the novel does. The end of chapter 12 is just trying to stir up a little drama for a cliffhanger.
