This is sad and nonsensical. Why did the tree appear as his friend as a child? Author could have just as easily made Dori appear as present Emma or even future, adult ara ara Emma. Why does the author keep giving him weird fetishes, but make it so that he's afraid to kiss Olivia? Also, he knows that's not Emma but his internal argument with himself tells us that he either has psychological disorders or he's stupid since he convinced himself that leaving the Dryad is just like leaving Emma.

@Elroy79 As he explained in that very chapter, he's herbivorous. The girls go on the attack and kiss him, rather than it being the other way around. With Olivia, he was the one that had to initiate.
Also, he's arguing against his rationality saying it's too dangerous and using the argument that leaving her is no better than leaving Emma. You need to brush up on yur reading comprehension, my dude.

Had nothing to do with lack of reading comprehension. You're attempted defense is the very thing I'm criticising, the whole Herbivore man/MC nonsense. It's nonsensical and irrational seeing it play out like this. Also, his whole rationale about the Dryad, leaving it is no better than leaving Emma? That's not MC's rationale, see below:
MC reasons that if he leaves Dori then he's somehow going to lose his memories of Emma meaning MC is likening Dori to Emma as if they're the same, exact person right after properly reasoning and learning from Dori herself that Dori does not equal Emma. I just reread this chapter, nowhere does MC say that leaving Dori would be like leaving Emma. No, instead, MC manipulates himself into believing that somehow leaving Dori would ruin his life with Emma then MC goes on to say that he can't live in a world without Dori as if he knew the dryad forever.
I don't have a problem with MC saving Dori, I have a problem with the author's failure to give MC the proper motivation to do that. It would've been better to just have MC say he wanted to save Dori because she reminded him of Emma or he wanted to save Dori just because doing so aligns with his own values.
