Apparently, the manga is butchering the novel in this arc, that's why it's a clusterfuck, they are basicaly trying to stretch a small event where the MC is actualy competent and best Girl one shot the thief into a full arc / mini arc, too bad, i hope it won't continue like that.

This manga went from interesting premise to boring MC with op powers and a big harem that fight bad guys (villain with no reasoning at all, aka "because hes evil", villain that will only be relevant to the story for arround 3-4 chapters and they'll never be mentioned anymore, since the only necessary plot is the mc lvling up and interacting with his harem for ecchi scenes.)

The base story is acceptable, the manga's dragging out small events from the LN for half a dozen chapters at a time is what is sinking it to the bottom of the ocean.
