There are a couple of issues that are jumping out at me. These are easily fixed though.

First please don't use Manga Temple. Even though it has 'Manga' in the name it's pretty much the worst font...
Try Astro City, Wild Words, or even Anime Ace.

Also I'm guessing you aren't using a full black font color because it would be darker than the rest of the lines?
You should auto level the colors as part of cleaning, the lines should be black and the blank spots should be white.
