@grecefar well if the wild pigs/boars or w.e are of a similar size as the ones that cause problems where I live then good fucking luck trying to kill one with a wooden sword. a 30-06 can bounce off their skulls. They can survive large wounds and they breed so fucking fast if their natural predators aren't around. Farms are like heaven for the boars too, so that helps them multiply faster cause they don't have to fight for food and all the babies can survive.

@OP_Zed If they're invasive, then they were probably introduced in prehistoric times. The ones there now are considered a native species. Japanese culture has a decent amount of focus on them with stuff like superstition and symbology.

People do hunt them, but it's not like they're trying to wipe the entire species out when doing it, so you still end up with them being pests to farmers from time to time.
