To be honest, this Akira+Ami pairing is the only thing that bothers me in this manga. Not so much their own personal attitudes since she really loves him in her immature way and he's a creepy pedo (so it's natural he likes her), but because Ami's bloody big brothers seem to think nothing of it. Like it's okay the adult hireling is lusting after their elementary schooler little sister. In what universe would such a thing happen?

@zeroxjac Sorry, but that joke was already old 15 years ago, and now it's the most repeated joke at this site (or pretty much any manga site), so at some point it just stops being a joke altogether.

To be honest, this pairing is the most beautiful thing in this manga. Akira is not a pedo, the girl he love just happen to be a little girl. He don't love any girl, just her. At first he don't even like her. Now he decided to wait 11 years to tell her his feeling. (That'll make Ami older than all the girls in this mamga right now to know the feeling of the man she loves). Pedo definitely don't do that. I didn't say pedo is good, just he is not pedo.

And Hirofumi did that because he do not want to hurt Ami by seperate them. He know Akira means a whole world to her.

@DirkHardpeck dude, that chapter is when he awakened as a pedo, the only thing keeping hin in line is her brother that threatened him to basically kill him, and It doesn't matter how you put it is a fact that he loves (romantically) a 5-6 year old child.

@zeroxjac I'm extremely fed up by the joke. Also, I don't view it as calling the FBI on a fictional character. What I view it as is FBI appearing in the manga, as FBI agent characters, to harass the regular characters. Which would be quite unlikely unless the story is located in US territory.

Still, it wasn't my intention to attack you specifically and somehow separate you from all the people cracking that particular joke. Sorry about that.

@sawr You (and the majority of the manga industry) really need to look up grooming. Waiting does not change the fact that Akira is a pedophile/predator. And if you seriously think that their relationship is the most beautiful thing in this manga, you seriously belong on a list.

@Secuthar I actually did follow your advice and looked up grooming. Predictably, I found no data on epidemiology of it, which led me to believe it's largely another "manufactured danger" - result of paranoid people living is an extremely safe environment, and which doesn't actually occur in any meaningful capacity.

Furthermore, the definition of grooming is "befriending and establishing an emotional connection with a child, and sometimes the family, to lower the child's inhibitions with the objective of sexual abuse" Therefore, if we assume that Akira is willing to wait until whatsherface is of legal age, then by extension no child abuse will take place, and then by extension his behaviour does not meet the definition of "grooming".

Hope you'll have better luck protecting fictional characters next time.

I did not see Akira sexually attracted to Ami since chapter 1. He just do anything to make her happy.

And for who feel like their age gap is too much, Hirofumi age 29 and Rino age (same class as Sara, so at most) 16, so that's 13 years apart. That's greater than Akira to Ami. And I don't see anyone have a problem with that pair.
