I dont understand how making Knight gay made him apathetic.
Mage became a woman, same personality.
Monk became young, same personality.
Princess switched personalities(assuming), obviously changed personality.

Knight became gay, changed personality?
Maybe he was always that way. Driven only by his desire to bone the Princess. Now that the desire is gone, so too is his will to fight.

Also, from the flashbacks he doesn't seem to have changed that much.

Also, the personalities of the others seem to have changed a bit too. Mage became more feminine and Monk more childish.

@Vasqueztion From the one flashback to the village with the ninja clan his treatment of woman was different than his current treatment of man too. I think he wasn't a sexual predator before (and one without even restraint he wanted to rape ninja guy in full view of others while his team was still fighting), so I assume the curse must have been a wider personality change than just an orientation change, more a compulsion to have sex with man than just being interested in them. That or the author is really really homophobic. But I am going to assume the first.
