Ossan Boukensha Kane no Zenkou - Vol. 2 Ch. 6 - Princess Ana gifts Kane with a quest...?

The story of goddess Altena and Kane feels like inspired by story of Lady Guanyin who become a goddess of thousand hands, keep helping people no matter what. I feel like my tears started to flow again from my dried, busted tear ducts.

Sure, that is heartwarming, but are we really going to ignore the fact that she hijacked another goddess' statue to start receiving prayers?

@DeadintheWater it's a forgotten goddess. From what I can understand from this story, it seems like anyone can attain godhood as long as the king of gods acknowledges them, death for a god is when they lose followers who would devote their prayers to them. Essentially that goddess statue that he picked up was already a dead god

Altena became a goddess of the shrine in order to give him protection? That certainly explains his uncanny luck all the time.

@DeadintheWater Not really she said that the king of the gods Audia is the the one that granted that wish so he is the one that did it, not her. Then as @LayZzz said, based on how she become a goddess then an old and not know god is/could be dead.

@DeadintheWater @VadjanD @LayZzz There is also the possibility that it's not a "goddess that no one remembers" it could've been a statue made for her by the god and he made it seem like it was one no one remembers. It could've been a trial from the get go, to test if her bond and Kane's was strong enough to create the goddess of kindness.

It's a tad confusing whether or not one should root for the guy, although it's a bit weird to point it so late in the story.
The guy essentially owes all of his recent success to divine protection, which made him receive the attention and care of incredibly influential and impressionable people, which then gave way to more divine protection; And at this point, it has become an absurd situation in which it's worthy to invest in him, because people have already invested in him.
This guy just snowballs "luck" like crazy.

@WillLi imo maybe the forgotten god is the god of kindness so the king of gods made their fate to be like this. For the new god of kindness to be born.
In a sense it was made for her to occupy.

And "a statue made by gods" doesn't make sense to me.

There's a page where the statue is blessed by the god for her wish. Imo a statue of a god in its basic just a statue. And how it ended up in kane hand is gods plan.

And the Princesses' plan to make Kane a Hero by having him lead a counter attack against the monster army begins!
Not saying that's this is what happens, but based on her track record I wouldn't put it past her.

I don't know if calling everything that happened to/for Kane "luck" is really accurate. That would imply that he did nothing to "earn" good fortune. I mean, he's basically a paladin. He adheres to a strong moral code regardless of the negative reception this earns him from other adventurers, he gives without asking for anything in return when the need is greatest, he willingly puts himself between others and danger even when he knows he isn't strong enough to win.

He reminds me of a less harshly trained Will from Saihate no Paladin to be honest.

Although the dialogue a lil' bit jumbled here and there, it's still readable.
Thanks translator, can't wait
the tiger gurl Tetora appearance

P.S. : if by any chance you go to LH,
I often make an outline translation (only) for this manga at the comments section.
🤗

Kane you have all my compassion, at least he will have lost 10 years of life.
And know that I'm not crying, someone had fun throwing onions around, that's all. 😡😭
