I like how the Demon Lord says that Kane is his bitter enemy, and gives him the moniker of the "Virtuous Kane", as if he was some kind of hero or pope, but in truth Kane is just a regular, kind man, who happens to be at a right place, at a right time.

@oculunus I mean isn't he though? If the definition for heroism requires asskicking ability sure he lacks it, but on the face of it, kind deeds in overwhelming odds like that is a pretty standard brand of heroism. Hell, a lot of heroic types do that anyway, the only difference here being unlike say Shonen Hero X508252 who can make that call and maybe live through it because they're swole as fuck Kane's...just a dude. Maybe slightly above average but still just a dude.

Unrelated to that though Sephira is wingwomaning(???) HARD here.

Yeah, you're right, there no doubt to Kane's heroism. By "hero" I meant the typical shonen kind that comes along with powers and the classical mission to defeat a demon lord. Kane is more of everyday hero, which in some sense is even better.

This is story telling skill right here. Kane trying to calm Noir had far more tension than any stand off between an OP hero and a random demon lord.

Reminder that this is a man who literally saved an evil god through a "you're not alone/you're not a bad girl" hug.

I do wonder though,even if Noir somehow kill him as per the wish, would the Gods be like "look at this exemplar of virtues, let's UPGRADE HIM TO A GOD (and also would let him 'marry' Alterna on equal standing)"
Or will Noir lose her evil god status by for the first time refusing a wish (with some Kane's encouragement), making her go from a 'nameless goddess' to one with standards in what kind of wish she grants (i.e. take after her 'dad' in only granting non-malicious wishes)

Then again an anti-climatic 'good girl hug'working one more time would be...amusing for me.

@raguel well.... if Sephira let Althena borrow her body and do the deed , technically she also do it with Kane she admire, so quite a win-win situation for Sephira , bonus if she got pregnant and kinda become like surrogate mother for Althena 'child with Kaine' which is also going to bind her to s marriage with Kane

Welp, Kane is about to go full UNLIMITED DAD WORKS on Dustard for harming his beautiful god-daugtheru.
But seriously, Dustard and that Goblin Mage plan was really simple and solid. It wasn't the "need 6 sacrifices to revive the evil god" thing, it just speeds it up. Noir would turn into evil god either way. After all, they need her idol to be either destroyed or retrieved.
But you know who had even better plan?
Sephiria.
She lends out a body, gets to fuck Kane and in the best case scenario even gets pregnant with half-god (1/3 god?) baby. And even when she's possessed it seems like she's fully aware of what's happening. It's all win/win situations.
