im rereading this and tbh everything just makes so much more sense now. the first time around i was so confused on how their relationship came to be, what he even meant when he cornered her at the elevator, and how all of a sudden she was blushing and hugging him when she said she didnt even prefer guys like him? she definitely didnt show anything that might imply she had real romantic feelings for him so it just didnt make sense (still kind of doesnt). besides i guess shes not his type either since earlier his character introduction page or whatever you wanna call it said that he prefers girls with big breasts and thinks thats the most important physical trait.
