At this point this is normal manga using 4 koma panel structure only.
Tomo chan wa onna noko have drama too but that manga still has punchline every last panel.

It would have been a nicer twist if it hadn't been a guy in the first place, but a female intruder. People primarily assume typical criminals are male, but this series has had quite a fluid way of handling genders. Too bad what we already saw looked like a guy.

Still, there was that aroma thing, so I expect this to turn into something silly. Like the intruder was cooking and she had to join him for a dinner.
