I prefer chapters like this that diverge from the "original" storyline.

There are still times when I'm worried this spin-off seems to be adhering too closely to the main timeline. I'm glad to see different characters (the sword teacher and Sienna, and now Noelle) pick up plot and screen time.

I also like to see Katarina have good, but *different*, relationships with the "old" core cast.
